As of February 9, 2016, the 2016 World Beer Cup has received applications from 2,011 breweries representing 63 countries.
“This year breweries from a record-setting 63 countries will participate in the World Beer Cup,” announced Chris Swersey, World Beer Cup Competition Manager. “That’s about a nine percent increase in participating countries over the 2014 World Beer Cup, when breweries from 58 countries participated. Also, the 2016 event will be far more competitive than ever, with an average of nearly 70 entries per category compared to roughly 51 entries per category in 2014.”
