Denver, Colorado and Craft Brewers Conference 2014 serve as home to the World Beer Cup (WBC), often referred to as “The Olympics of Beer Competition.” The event is set to begin April 7—brewers, judges and beer professionals from around the world will travel to the Mile High City.
As the world’s largest global beer competition, WBC creates greater awareness about different beer styles and flavors while promoting international brewing excellence. This year, more than 4,900 beers from over 1,400 breweries located in 60+ countries will compete for World Beer Cup awards.
Every two years, a highly qualified professional panel of beer judges honors the top three beers in 90+ categories with gold, silver and bronze awards. For 2014, some 220 judges from 32 different countries will evaluate the beers. Several first-time countries will be represented on the 2014 judge panel, including Spain, China and Taiwan.
